Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are the fastest-growing segment in the aviation industry, and, as many readers know, FAA certification is required for the commercial operation of drones in the United States. Additionally, UAS activities that cross state lines and deliveries that travel beyond the operator’s visual line of sight (BLOS) require Part 135 certification. Obtaining a Part 135 certification is a complex process consisting of five phases. Argus International’s FAA certification experts are available to make this process less time-consuming and more efficient for operators and manufacturers. Prism, a division of Argus International, is an FAA-approved certification consultant. Its experts work with UAS operators worldwide to develop and implement the complex requirements for Part 135 drone operations in US airspace, including type and production certifications. Simon Maina, Argus International’s new director of business development, has over 30 years of experience in FAA certification and is dedicated to assisting Argus customers through this process.
